Announcement of Elections to the Board of the Silkmen Supporters’ Society Ltd 2012
The rules of the Trust require that one third of Board positions are open for election each year and that current members of the Board stand down in turn. All Members are entitled to stand in the election. The rules governing the election and a nomination form can be obtained from the Hon Sec, David Woolliscroft who is contactable via the Message form below.
The current Board is made up as follows:
Adam Waller (Chairman) elected 2011
John Rayner elected 2011
*Myra Clark (Treasurer) elected 2009
Jim Goodwin elected 2009
Andrew Mellor (Disability Liaison) elected 2010
Jon Smart elected 2011
Rob Wilson elected 2011
David Woolliscroft (Honorary Secretary) elected 2011
Myra Clark, with an asterix has completed three year terms of office; she is eligible to seek election.
Therefore, as the Board may have up to 12 members, there are five vacancies to be filled by election.
We hope you will consider seeking election to your Trust board. Nomination forms must be returned by 31 January 2012 to be considered.

SST Member's Brief No. 1 - December 2011.
Welcome to the first Silkmen Supporters’ Trust (SST) Member's Brief. The aim of the SST Members Brief is to keep you updated with what is happening in and round the SST. In order to cut down costs instead of mailing this brief to members it will be published online here on the SST website and hopefully in both a matchday program and the local press.
Coaches to Away Games
The SST are now heavily involved with the organisation, provision and promotion of coaches to away games. In co-operation with the club we have devised a system whereby supporters can book coach places via phone, online or in person thus making it easier.
SST members and season ticket (ST) holders receive a discount (currently £2) on each seat they book.
Upcoming coaches:
Saturday 17 December 2011 - Shrewsbury Town.
Departs Moss Rose at 12 noon. £11 for SST and ST holders. £13 for all others.

Treacle Market - 18 December 2011.
MTFC have a stall on the Treacle Market on Sunday 18 December 2011. They will be selling a variety of MTFC items. The SST have been invited to take part and help out. This invitation has been gladly accepted and SST merchandise on sale too.

Xmas Draw.
The SST Xmas Draw will take place on Saturday 10 December 2011 after the Gillingham game.

Annual General Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Silkmen Supporters Society Ltd will be held at 5.15 pm or as soon as possible thereafter on Saturday 30 July 2011 in Keith’s Bar,
Moss Rose Stadium, Macclesfield.
The agenda for the meeting is given below.
All Members and supporters are invited to attend but only Society Members are entitled to vote. The Annual Report and Associated Financial Statements is available below.
Agenda
- To hear the notice convening the meeting
- To receive and adopt the 2010 Financial Statements (including Statement of Financial Activities, Balance Sheet and related Report) (Resolution 1)
- To note the outcome of the invitation to Members to consider nomination to the Board of the Society and to introduce the new Board
- Any other business (short open discussion on the future strategy for the Society and report on the position of SupportersDirect (the ‘parent’ body of SST)).

In order to progress the business of the meeting, the following resolutions will be proposed for adoption.

The Members of the Silkmen Supporters Society Ltd present at the General Meeting held on 30 July 2011 receive and adopt the financial statements prepared by the Society’s Independent Examiner.

SST Coach Travel
Now that the fixture list is out for next season the SST are contacting coach firms in order to once again provide the popular SST coach to the away fixtures. Once things have been finalised all details will be published here.

Senior Fives Competition Final League Tables 2011

Following an extremely well supported Senior Fives Competition at The Macclesfield Football Festival. The league Tables ended up as the link here.
The two semi-finals were between:
The Original Bolly Boys v Woodiwiss on Pitch 1 and Moss Rats v Roath Ravers on Pich 3.
The Original Bolly Boys secured a 2-1 win against Woodiwiss whilst Moss Rats ended up 4-1 winners.
The resulting final saw the Moss Rats as winners of this years competition.
The Trophy was presented by Mr Phil Spring from Spring & Co, one of the event sponsors and Adam Waller the new Chairman of the SST.
We would like to thank all teams that took part and look forward to seeing you all in the 2012 Festival.

The Supporters Trust are pleased to announce that, with the very generous assistance of George Williams, (see our sponsors) we have been able to help the Club fund the purchase of ISDN broadcasting equipment to provide a much better quality of sound for the commentary on Silkplayer.
Existing subscribers will appreciate the difference and we would like to encourage all fans to try Silkplayer and support the commentary teams at home and away fixtures. Your commentators are primarily fans who are prepared to give up their time to provide this service with no remuneration.

Sponsored Walk Fundraising Presentation

On Saturday 19th March Steve Mundy and Andy Mellor, just two of those that completed the walk to Stockport, Presented representatives of Marie Curie Cancer Care with a cheque for One Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty Seven Pounds.
This was the magnificent amount raised by all the fans who obtained sponsorhip for the walk to Stockport.
The Trust would like to express their thanks to all those that took part and helped raise such a large sum, you are all a credit to Macclesfield Town FC.

If you shop online please use the SST's shopping portal and help raise funds. We have access to thousands of high street retailers.

Commerative Flag Update
With the bucket collection having raised £211, together with the £249 donated via PayPal, and the 50% contribution donated by the SST - we have now reached the total needed to pay for the commemorative flag for Keith and Richard.
Jon Smart was to have collected the flag on Wednesday morning , so we should have it on display at tomorrow's home game against Bradford City.
Well done Silkmen fans.

Welcome
Welcome to the Silkmen Supporters' Trust (SST) new website.
Over the coming days and weeks this website will be added to and enhanced hopefully to make it the premier site for Macclesfield Town fans.
A shopping portal will be added giving you access to thousands of high street retailers. When you use it to shop online the SST will get a percentage of what you pay. Therefore by shopping using the portal not only are you raising funds for the SST but ultimately the club.
We are investigating incorporating a messageboard at a later date.
